Łże-Liberalism is

kleptocratic ideology, representing 
post-communist political elites in 
Poland.
Overview
[edit]The phrase "łże-elity" (lie-elites, or lying elites) was firstly used by 
Jarosław Kaczyński in 2006 to describe socio-political elites opposing his government. It was part of his rhetoric, stating that post-1989 system in Poland was built to benefit former communists and/or their families. Another important part of said rhetoric is highlighting elites' opposition to 
decommunization of the country.
Another aspect of post-communist elites not being the true elites is their engagement in multiple corruption scandals (Rywin Scandal, for example) combined with strong politicization. Critics of the phrase often point out that 
PiS itself has former members of 
PZPR in its ranks.
Myrchism
[edit]In 2024 it turned out that vice-minister of Justice, Arkadiusz Myrcha and his wife, MP Kinga Gajewska, both take additional payment for the house. Yet, they live in one house, not two and were members of Sejm in past, meaning they could easily afford the house even without said payments. Another important fact is that both of them state the house is being built so they don't live there. Yet, there are photos clearly showing that house was finished.
Moreover, the deputies themselves were highly critical of PiS' corruption scandals and promised to put responsible politicians to the courts.
Since then, neologism Myrching (or to Myrch) is used to describe politicians laying to the people, wasting public money and being hypocrites.
Variants

Balcerowiczism
[edit]Balcerowiczism describes political reforms of so called Balcerowicz Plan, a method for rapidly transitioning from an 
economy based on state ownership and central planning, to a 
capitalist market economy in 
post-communist Poland that were based on ealier created Sachs-Lipton Plan created by 
Jeffrey Sachs and David Lipton.
In 1989, Poland was in an economic crisis. As a result of the actions of 
Mieczyslaw Rakowski's government, especially the marketization of food prices and the indexation of wages, hyperinflation occurred. Another problem was the high budget deficit, which in 1989 amounted to 8% of GDP. The foreign debt was also extremely high.
Leszek Balcerowicz, Minister of Finance in 
Tadeusz Mazowiecki's government, and member of PZPR since 1969, presented the assumptions of his plan in October 1989. It provided for:
- reform of state finances in order to regain budget balance,
- introduction of market mechanisms to the economy by liberalizing prices and introducing a fixed exchange rate of the złoty to the dollar,
- change of the ownership structure of the economy through privatization and lifting restrictions on real estate trade.
The plan consisted of 10 acts passed by the Contract Sejm on 27 and 28 December 1989 and signed by 
President Jaruzelski on 31 December 1989:
- The Act amending the Act on the financial management of state-owned enterprises - removed the guarantee of the existence of all state-owned enterprises regardless of their financial results and production efficiency, and allowed bankruptcy proceedings against unprofitable enterprises.
- The Act amending the Banking Law and the National Bank of Poland Acts - prohibited the financing of the budget deficit by the central bank and prevented the unlimited issuance of money without coverage.
- The Act on the Regulation of Credit Relations - abolished credit preferences of state-owned enterprises, linking the interest rate to the inflation rate, changed the terms of previously concluded fixed-interest loan agreements.
- The Wage Growth Tax Act of 1990 - used the tax on wage increases, introduced five years earlier, as a drastic tool to limit the growth of nominal wages in enterprises in relation to the real growth of prices.
- The Act on amending certain acts regulating the principles of taxation - unified the principles of paying taxes in all economic sectors. It introduced a uniform, 40 percent tax in all sectors of the economy and increased certain tax rates, taking into account inflation.
- The Act amending the Act on the principles of conducting business activity in the territory of the Polish People's Republic in the field of small-scale production by foreign legal and natural persons and the Act on business activity with the participation of foreign entities - imposed on foreign enterprises the obligation to sell foreign currency to the state at the exchange rate set by the central bank, exempted enterprises with foreign capital from paying a levy, announced the possibility of transferring profits abroad.
- The Act amending the Foreign Exchange Law - introduced internal convertibility of the złoty, eliminated the state monopoly in foreign trade and obliged enterprises to resell earned foreign exchange to the state. Sales in the so-called internal export were eliminated (in Peweks and Baltona stores).
- Customs Law - unified rules for customs clearance of imported goods for all economic entities.
- Employment Act - changed the rules of operation of employment agencies and annulled the act on persons evading the obligation to work. Formally sanctioned the existence of unemployment.
- The Act on special principles for terminating employment relationships with employees for reasons concerning the workplace and on amending certain acts - ensured protection for those dismissed from work (especially in the case of collective dismissals), guaranteed financial severance pay and introduced periodic unemployment benefits.
There is no consensus among experts as to whether the Balcerowicz plan had a direct impact on the development of entrepreneurship and trade, which had been liberalized a year earlier by the so-called 
Wilczek Act.
The Balcerowicz Plan was criticized for contributing to a significant decline in the standard of living of many groups of the population, especially 
employees of unprofitable state-owned enterprises and 
employees of state-owned farms (PGR), creating areas of poverty and structural unemployment, which in many places continues to this day. Some economists also criticized the Balcerowicz Plan for its insufficient protection of the internal market during the transformation and for allowing for a long-term collapse of entire sectors of the economy due to the lack of a state policy to influence its structure.
According to some economists, in the 1990s it led to a collapse of domestic demand, flooding of the domestic market with imported production, the collapse of state-owned enterprises indebted by financial policy and the sale of the best of them to capital mainly of 
Western countries, strong pauperization of the majority of society and a sudden increase in unemployment. However, the decisive effect of the plan for generations was the creation of the possibility of privatizing state assets in the Latin American formula in the form of 
selling enterprises for 4,5-5% of their replacement value to foreign corporations and ex-members of PZPR or other closely linked to PRL government, regardless of their profitability, stock of raw materials and level of modernization.
Combination of the third act, ‘’The Act on the Regulation of Credit Relations’’, with maintaining a fixed dollar exchange rate (9,500 PLZ per 1 USD) for a period of several months (January 1990 – May 1991), the so-called anti-inflation anchor, caused a side effect that was a decrease in the purchasing power of savings and debt in dollars and the possibility of profit for foreign investors from high interest rates on savings in złoty, allowing for the drainage of capital from the banking sector as well as the destruction of the emerging middle class (small entrepreneurs and wealthier farmers) by imposing on them several times higher interest rates on loans from one day to the next.
Leszek Balcerowicz is also ofter criticized, partly for his past as a member of PZPR. His statements from the period when he did not hold any state office gives the impression of absolute free-marketer. However, when his actions from the period when he had power, or at least influence on the economy are analyzed, he seems to be 
etatist by, for example, introducing Wage Growth Tax (pol. PPWW, refered sometimes as popiwek) or introducing unemployment benefit. Some refered to him as “Dictator of the Polish Economy” due to his great influence on the economy in Poland as Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister or as President of the National Bank of Poland.

[edit]Bilewiczism is political ideology of sociologist, psychologist, publicist and memeber of 
B’nai B’rith – Loża Polin (ang. B’nai B’rith – Polin Lodge) File:Bilewicz.png Michał Bilewicz. He's a liberal and 
staunch zionist.
In his 2002 article in File:KrytykaPolityczna.png Krytyka Polityczna he accused the left-wing of being uncritically against Israel and using 
anti-semitic schemes. Bilewicz openly associates with what he refers to as an File:AntiPiS.png "anti-PiSist coalition"[5]
He sparked even bigger controversy publishing his four-point political plan, that being:
- Quick
federalization of EU. 
Incarcering supporters of 
Putin and 
Trump (following 
Romanian example).- Closing the channels of enemy's propaganda in the
EU (
X etc). - Development of
European nuclear program.
This was widely commented, especially by the 
right-wing media.[6][7] In wake of 2025 presidential election, Bilewicz compared the second round to choice between "setting fire to the barn in Jedwabne" or "siding with those who saved Jews".[8] He also stated that praising 
Second Polish Republic is praising a rising File:Ethnofash.png "ethno-fascism".[9]
.Modernism 
[edit].Modernism describes political beliefs of Polish, self-proclaimed liberal political party 
.Nowoczesna (eng. .Modern).
At the end of 2014, reports and rumours began to appear about the possibility of the creation of a new political party, whose founder and leader was supposed to be Leszek Balcerowicz, referring to it as the second 
Kongres Liberalno-Demokratyczny (eng. Liberal Democratic Congress).[10]
In 2015, these rumors began to intensify.[11] The establishment of the association called NowoczesnaPL was announced in April this year by 
Ryszard Petru, then chairman of the Society of Polish Economists, well known associate of Balcerowicz. In May of that year, polls began to appear with a hypothetical "Balcerowicz's party"[12], as well as who can be members of this party[13].
The party was founded on May 31, 2015 as NowoczesnaPL (eng. ModernPL), in August 2015, the party's name was changed to .Nowoczesna (eng. .Modern) due to controversy over its name being already used by NGO.
In the 2015 parliamentary elections .Nowoczesna won 7.6% of the votes, which gave them 26 seats. From the 2015 elections to the end of 2016, party had more support in the polls than 
PO. It lost it after Ryszard Petru's image problems like 
many strange slips of tongue and stupid statements or affair with Joanna Schmidt, one of his MP, while still being married and infamous trips to Madeira with her.
File:Lubnauer.png Katarzyna Lubnauer became the leader of .Nowoczesna in November 2017. In May 2018, founder Ryszard Petru left the party.
During the 2019 Polish parliamentary elections the party was a member of 
KO along with PO, 
Ipl and 
Zieloni. After these elections, .Nowoczesna, with its eight-person squad, rejoined the KO parliamentary group, and Adam Szłapka was elected as president of the party.
During the 2023 Polish parliamentary elections the party was also a member of KO, gaining 6 seats, with .Nowoczesna falling into oblivion, becoming an inseparable part of KO. In 2025, Adam Szłapka became government spokesman.[14]
On October 24, 2025, the party's dissolution was announced and its members joined KO.

[edit]Ryszard Petru was first leader of .Modern party. Before entering the politics he was mainly known for 
working for banks and being apprentice of Leszek Balcerowicz. During his first time in Sejm, Petru was mainly known for his slips of tongue[15] and flight to Madeira together with his fellow MP Joanna Schmidt.[16] He was kicked from 'Modern in 2018 and later created 
Teraz! (eng. Now!), three-people political party.
Petru didn't get re-elected in 2019 parliamentary election. Yet, he got some attention after debating File:Mentzenism.png Sławomir Mentzen. In 2023 Petru joined 
Poland 2050 and got re-elected in 2023.

[edit]Sierakowskism describes political ideas of Polish left-wing activist Sławomir Sierakowski and his journal - Krytyka Polityczna (Political Critique). Newspaper was founded in 2002 and since then became core for network of 
progressive activists. In 2025 Sławomir Sierakowski expressed support for 
replacement of Polish population through mass immigration.[17]
Politically, the journal supports 
further European integration and criticizes 
large corporations and billionaires. It receives funds from 
George Soros' foundations. Among journal's publicists is 
Yanis Varoufakis.[18] It also published an article arguing 
Trump's America is turning into a

ludologist movement.[20]

WOŚPism
[edit]WOŚPism is an ideology representing views of 
Jerzy "Jurek" Owsiak, the founder of WOŚP - Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (eng. Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) and also the creator of the annual Pol'and'Rock Festival, formerly known as Przystanek Woodstock (eng. Woodstock Festival).
List of controversies around his public activity is long, but to mention just few of them:
- Being child of employees of the
Citizens' Militia (MO), 
PRL's version of Police. - Defense of
Lech Wałęsa after the disclosure of documents proving that he was agent of the PRL's 
Security Service (pol. Bezpieka/SB). - Organizing unnecessary happenings during the forced conscription into the army by the authorities of the PRL.
- Participating in campaigns encouraging people to vote with people like
Janusz Palikot. - Despite the declaration of
apoliticality, inviting politicians associated with one political side to the Pol’and’Rock Festival, such as Leszek Balcerowicz, 
Bronisław Komorowski or 
Adam Bodnar. - Being
pro-euthanasia and 
pro-abortion, while at the same time, collecting funds for pediatric and geriatric hospital wards within the framework of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. - Promotion of
Libertinism, 
Hedonism and 
Hare Krishna. - Making very expensive
TV shows out of annual Finals of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, thereby wasting the collected funds. - Alleged incompleteness of financial data from the early activity of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
- In early activity of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity,
allegedly financing the Woodstock Festival with money raised by prior. - Alleged withdrawals of part of the funds collected by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity by companies owned by Owsiak, which were not denied during court hearings, as Owsiak refused to show accounting records of WOŚP and his companies.
- the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity being just a propaganda, as fundraising covers a fraction of a percent of hospital needs, but they are wrongly presented as being absolutely necessary for the proper functioning of
the Healthcare Service in Poland. - In the face of any controversy, resorting to emotional blackmail by announcing the end of its activity, only to announce a grand comeback a few days later.
- The another aspect of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity being just a propaganda is the fact of its politicization, changing the participation in findrasing from an act of charitability into
act of clear political declaration, among other things, through the cooperation of WOŚP with KO during the 2023 campaign by financing ambiguous promotional billboards, as WOŚP logo is very similar to KO's one. In interview in 
TVP Owsiak confirmed he took part in the campaign.[21] Because of that WOŚP is often compared to Winterhilfswerk from 
Nazi Germany. - After Flood of Silesia of 2024,
Donald Tusk appointed WOŚP to be official Charity Fundraiser Organizer by initially transferring 40 millions PLN from the state budget that later payments were made by other private and public organizations in the amount of several additional millions of PLN. Apart from the fact that it was obvious 
Cronyism and therefore clear violation of the law, it is not known what happened to the transferred money. - Adding to the allegations of Cronyism, after taking power by Donald Tusk and becoming prime minister again, state-owned companies, like Orlen, are selling their products, such as coffee at their gas stations, allocates part of the money from their sale to WOŚP.
- In 2025 at least two people were arrested for alleged "threats" against Owsiak. These two people were elder woman in her 60s and autistic young man. The former was arrested because Owsiak stated he feels threatened by her critical comments while the letter was arrested by an anti-terrorist unit.
TVNism
[edit]TVN is a Polish free-to-air television station, network and a media and entertainment group in Poland. It was co-founded by Polish businessmen Mariusz Walter, Jan Wejchert and Swiss entrepreneur Bruno Valsangiacomo. It is owned by TVN Group, which as of April 2022, is a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. According to 
TVN's former long-time journalist, 
Witold Gadowski, since its founding TV was strongly influenced by File:PostKomunaSB.png post-communist secret services.[22]
The full meaninig of abbreviation 'TVN' is not fully known, with some suggested expansions like "Telewizja Nowa" (eng. TV New), "Telewizja Niezależna" (eng. TV Independent), where its opponents suggesting such expansion like 
"Telewzja Niemiecka" (eng. TV Germany), 
"Tusk's Vision Network" or any other version where word standing for 'N' starts with "Nie-" (eng. No or Non) for examples 
"Telewizja Niemoralna" (eng. TV Immoral), File:Shill.png "Telewizja Nieuczciwa" (eng. TV Dishonest), 
"Telewizja Niepolska" (eng. TV Non-Polish).
Their most criticized program is "Fakty TVN" (eng. Facts), mostly known for constantly deviating from the facts, but they're not alone in this on the Polish media scene as most of news programs are known of being propaganda mouthpiece of a specific political option. The level of hypocrisy and mendacity and the direction of the propaganda is often compared to the American 
CNN and MSNBC.
One of TVN's most effective methods for entering the political scene is the creation and promotion of progressive political parties such as:
Ruch Palikota (eng. Palikot's Movement) later renamed to Twój Ruch (eng. Your Movement) with Janusz Palikot as its founder, being created as split from 
Civic Platform (PO), as an option for the 2011 parliamentary elections. This party, after the founders left, the inability to form a coalition with other left-wing parties and the loss of any support, it dissolved itself in 2023.- .Nowoczesna (eng. .Modern) with Ryszard Petru, at that time most famous for being a student of Leszek Balcerowicz, as its founder as an option for the 2015 parliamentary elections in October after poor result of Janusz Palikot in presidencial elections in May of the same year. After the change of its leader in 2017, the party became de facto part of PO in their coalition, KO.
Wiosna (eng. Spring) with 
Robert Biedroń as its founder, already known as one of original members of Ruch Palikota and President of Słupsk city. He became (in)famous as first openly homosexual MP. Party was created as option for elections to European Parliament and Polish Parlament in 2019. After poor results in May in elections to European Parliament a broad coalition of left-wing parties was announced, now known as 
The Left that runned in October in parlamentary elections. In December iw was anounced that Wiosna is going to be disolved and turned into part of 
Nowa Lewica (eng. New Left) which happened in 2021.
Polska 2050 (eng. Poland 2050) with 
Szymon Hołownia as its founder, already known as co-host of Polish version of Got Talent Show created and transmitted by TVN. Szymon Hołownia runned in presidential elections in June 2020, taking 3rd place, in comparison, Biedroń took 6th place. After this in August 2020, the Polska 2050 Association was registered, and later in March 2021, the 
Polska 2050 Party. In the parliamentary elections in 2023, in alliance with 
PSL they got 3th place securing its position in the Sejm and the ruling coalition, with Szymon Hołownia becoming Marshal of Sejm, the Polish equivalent of the Speaker of the Parliament, being second in polish order of precedence.
