It is an economically left-wing, culturally left-wing and civically liberal (also usually libertarian) ideology that advocates progressive values, parliamentary democracy, civil liberties, and especially File:Welf3.png Welfare and environmental programs, while still preserving harmless culture and tradition. Despite its name, Socialist Third Way is not economically Third-wayer, and supports Government ethical regulations in a worker cooperative economy framework. Socialist Third Way is opposed to Anti-LGBTQ+, free market capitalist, monarchist, imperialist, racist, and authoritarian ideologies.

This ideology becomes Castroist on July 26 and Marxist on December 26.

Cultural

Left Side is a great supporter of human rights, racial equality, LGBT+ and women rights. He thinks the Government should stay away from our "sexuality business" and that Gender equality is not negotiable: women in all the world should have the right to vote, to work, but especially the same salaries as men. While he completely supports First, Second wave and, partially, also the Third wave of feminism, he finds the current wave unnecessary and radical, mainly in the West.

  • Social Feminism

Left Side's specific form of feminism would be social feminism, which incorporates elements of feminist philosophy into social democracy. He believes that feminism is necessary towards fighter gender and economic inequality, since neither contribute towards a happy society and must be fought.

  • Cultural Liberalism and Immigration

Left Side is a Cultural Liberal, he recognizes the importance of the Harm principle and Freedom of speech, and believes that progress is necessary to advance society, being a socially progressive ideology, while still preserving harmless cultures and traditions. He supports an egalitarian and open society were people are treated the same regardless of their background such as their race, ethnicity, disability, gender, ect. Since discrimination and Nationalism do not contribute to a happy society and are pointless. He's open to immigration because he recognizes the good contributions that immigrants can bring to society and the economy. The borders should be more open, ensuring fair and transparent procedures, and protecting the rights of immigrants, but at the same time he advocates more focus on border control (just in case).

Other social issues

Left Side is also pro-choice concerning abortion and euthanasia. He thinks supporting LGBT+ Rights is fundamental, like supporting same-sex marriage or the possibility of adopting a child by LGBT+ couples. But he's not in favor of reforming the grammar to do this, and is an anti-Wokist and an anti-Idpol in general, because both of these ideologies promote very rigid and aggressive cultural positions.
Socialist Third Way believes that drug war was a disaster that put many innocent lives in jail. Seeing the results this had in Portugal, drug decriminalization has had no real societal downsides. And, going hand-in-hand with its stances on individual autonomy, it supports the complete decriminalization of all drugs, with soft drugs being completely legalized. Along with this, all non-violent drug offenders would be released from jail. However, there should be government programs available that encourage drug addicts to get off of drugs, and find healthier alternatives. As, drugs are a societal problem, not a legal problem.

Harm Principle and Social Individualism

This ideology supports the political theories of John Stuart Mill, especially the Harm Principle and Utilitarianism. Socialist Third Way is a civil liberal ideology, and believes you should be allowed to do whatever you want when you're not harming anyone else. In case of harmful cultural practices, the government will intervent.
Left Side is an individualist. He believes that we as humans have free will to create meaning in our lives, and he combines this thought with his economic leftism. Believing that if the individual has everything they have covered for them, then that allows them to live their lives and pursue their interests from authority, calling this social individualism. This is where his support for the harm principle comes from as well.

Socialist Third Way supports a massive extension of File:Welf3.png welfare State to provide for the people, actively redistribute wealth, and promote equality of opportunity. The government should invest in Social welfare, healthcare and public infrastructure (like public schools) and providing accessible education to all individuals, and favors Welfare state as a way of redistribution of the wealth. To do this, we need the Progressive Income Tax, which taxes citizens and Corporations based on what are their income for increased funding for welfare programs and public services. Both the corporate and individual income taxes ought to be progressive in order to make large corporations and wealthy individuals pay substantially more than the poor and small business owners. He wants to promote free public services, so, ensuring that everyone can afford to pay for high quality water and food as well as energy.

Environment

Socialist Third Way is a supporter of environmental justice, he sees protection of the environment as upmost importance, as climate change is something that is not only very real, but something that actively threatens the lives of billions of people. It as a necessary step to transitioning out of fossil fuels for the near future, along with the trade deals for our country needing to respect environmental standards, as neoliberal capitalism has lead to the exploitation of the environment by creating a race to the bottom, which causes businesses to disregard environmental standards for their own profit margins. The government must start subsidizing green alternatives to weaken the fossil fuel industry. Along with greater investments being put into green technology, seeing it as a key factor in defeating climate change.
Although, he would prefer for the government to just nationalize most of these industries relating to natural resources, were these state owned businesses would contribute to a sovereign wealth fund which would go to things like the welfare state and other government expenditures. He also promotes Government ethical regulations on Corporations to protect the environment. Left Side supports the Ecological taxes, which taxes the products that have a negative impact on the environment so eco-friendly principes emerge. He promotes the use of renewable energies as alternatives to fossil fuels. He also thinks that an european Green New Deal, based on the one in the USA, would be perfect for Europe. It would support a transition to 100% clean and renewable energy sources, creating millions of new, high-paying jobs in sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction and would seek to address economic inequality and promote social justice.

Environmental Globalization

As an Eco-Socialist he strongly advocates for Environment and Environmental Globalization. He thinks uncontrolled capitalism and Corporations are destroying the environment for their own profit. Socialist Third Way supports environmental globalization and the coordination of efforts regarding environmental issues between states to solve climate change, since it's an issue that we cannot solve alone. So it promotes diplomatic cooperation especially (but not only) with Anti-Capitalist democratic countries. We must cooperate on an international scale to achieve goals to defeat Climate change, like supporting regional or international deals like the European green deal, and then promoting United Nations environmental deals. The European Green Deal will transform the EU in a modern green economy, creating funds to support households in the green transition and reducing emissions from industry, transport and other sectors, ensuring that in 2050 there will no longer be any net emissions of greenhouse gases and economic growth will be decoupled from resource use.

Influences

I take heavy influence from the American Left, and I'm talking about real american leftists, not those progressive third-wayers who are actually centrists. I especially take inspiration from Bernie and the CPC and their welfarist and progressive programs to change the USA, and I also have to mention AOC for her support for the Green New Deal. I also like the DSA and the File:Green Party (US).png Greens. Other politicians/leaders who I take inspiration from are John Stuart Mill, Robert M. La Follete, Eduard Bernstein, Salvador Allende, Giacomo Matteotti, Nelson Mandela, Alexander Dubček, Olof Palme, Martin Luther King Jr., Jeremy Corbyn, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Mikhail Gorbachev, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Gabriel Boric. I'm also inspired by the 21st Century Socialist movements in Latin America, by their leaders, like Lula, Boric and Pietro and the Bolivarian Revolution (but that would be a successful democratic revolution).

Economics

Overview

Socialist Third Way supports Government ethical regulations on Corporations and citizens to encourage ethical practices, promoting social and environmental responsibility, protecting the interests of consumers and fix failures in the market and wants to model an economy off of the business model of worker co-operatives. My ideology favors pro-labor union stances to fight for workers rights extension, and advocates strong unionization of the working class. It also essentially believes that some sectors need responsible regulations to ensure protection for consumers, workers and the environment. My ideology advocates for a fair-trade policy that protects our jobs and makes sure the products coming into our country respect human rights and labor standards. He is opposed to economic globalization because job outsourcing has caused our manufacturing industry and trade union movement to dissipate. Subsequently, being destructive for the File:Progress.png progressive movement and contributing to the Corporatocracy we are living in now, which has created a system that concentrates all of the wealth into massive corporations, leaving local economies to slowly die. While at the same time, he is opposed to autarky because it has always lead to economic stagnation.
Left Side supports the system proposed by Social corporatism, which is a system that organizes labor based off of professions and uses the government to collaborate between these classes to ensure worker's rights by democratic means and guaranteeing strong File:Welf3.png welfare ethics, so this would be called Social Democratic Corporatism or its variant, Neocorporatism, which uses liberal principles.

Minimum wage
In this way the "bosses" cannot give a lower salary.

Universal Single-Payer Healthcare
To ensure all people can acquire quality healthcare completely free at the point of use, and everyone should have the same Healthcare level regardless of their income.

Wealth tax
The rich will be significantly taxed more through a progressive tax system to achieve wealth redistribution.

High taxes
Taxes must be raised on all people in society in order to pay for a large welfare increase. This mainly includes rich people, but also the working class as you cannot maintain a stable economy or welfare state by only raising funds from the ultra rich who in an ideal situation wont exist in the first place to pay those taxes. The religious institutions will be also taxed as the other institutions.

Land value tax
A Land Value Tax will be implemented to decommodify land to prevent land speculation and hoarding, the more land property you own, the more you get taxed for this land. Being a landlord will no longer be considered a job, and the land itself will be under public ownership through things like tenet unions.

Ecological Tax
It taxes the products that have a negative impact on the environment so eco-friendly principes emerge, and imposes a carbon tariff in order to lower CO2 emissions.

Progressive Income Tax
It taxes citizens and Corporations based on what are their income for increased funding for welfare programs and public services.

Sales Tax
It's important we have a sales tax to promote safe and healthy products, these taxes will be low on healthy products, while being high on unhealthy products, such as junk food and soft drugs.

To provide for the poor, stimulate the economy and fix out demographic crisis. However, to avoid giving basic income to "false unemployed", the distribution of this income will have to be seriously monitored.

Nationalization

Socialist Third Way would nationalize general basic utilities, such as healthcare, water and electricity, education, and all that stuff. These state-owned enterprises would have state-owned unions that co-operate with the government for things like wage increases and worker's rights protections. This is a list of utilities he would nationalize.

  • Healthcare : Public hospitals and pharma are needed to ensure access to quality medical services for all citizens. The cost for those services (including doctors, medical personnel...) will be repaid freely by the state.
  • File:Techn icon.png Education : A standardized education is necessary to have equal opportunities in life. I want to make school obligatory until 18.
  • Utilities : Basic utilities such as water, electricity, and sanitation services are vital for daily life.
  • File:Road.png Transportation : Make highways accross the country free.

Import Tariff

Left Side supports the use of import tariffs for two primary purposes: protecting local industries and encouraging ethical production practices. Tariffs level the playing field for domestic companies, preventing unfair competition from foreign markets. From a country we are on good terms with that share our same labor standards, there would be lower import duties. But, countries that are used by companies for cheap labor or those that politically threaten us would have significantly higher import duties to make those practices unprofitable, and protect the interest of workers.

Social Georgism and landlords

Socialist Third Way is Social georgist and supports a land value tax. The money from this land value tax would go towards the welfare state, making it a social georgist. It also believes that landlords are greedy parasites that contribute nothing to the economy. The alternative towards landlords would be common land ownership under tenet unions, he supports tenet unions because of his support for labor unions since they are necessary for the advancement of worker's rights.

Anti-Capitalism

The main problems come from capitalism when it is unregulated. We saw it. It leads to inequality, exploitation, concentration of wealth and power, as well as the destruction of the environment by the Corporations. And, as I said above, local industries would be dead without protectionism. But the market is great for investments, technology and economic growth. I propose a more balanced economic model that prioritizes the welfare of all citizens, combining elements of market dynamics and government intervention so it will strengthen both individual initiatives (private investments) and collective responsibility (ethics).

Government

Overview

Socialist Third Way supports a Liberal Democracy as his form of governance, since it brought us so much things like constitutional rights, civil rights, and equality under the law. It prefers the road to a Democratic Socialist society under a liberal Democracy, through reforms, pacifism, and slowly and gradually.

It would likely support Technocratic rule as a transitionary stage to develop the economic development necessary so said democracy can be properly built. The opinions of experts are just as valuable as those of the general population. The government will also listen the input of scientists and experts in various fields, including environmental science, economics, public health, and more to make good decisions.

This ideology favors a Parliamentary system over a presidential system. This system would make political decisions and their implementation faster, political power would be well balanced and better prevent parties from being corrupted. The juridical system should be independent and view every person as the same (no juridicial immunity). It wants the sentences to be only rehabilitative, with civic service or community tasks. The quality of life in prison should be largely improved so the prisoners have access to decent food, a library, a gym... It Is against minimal sentences and support judge-based decisions as there can be reasons to break the laws, thus we shall remain human. It also supports Democratic Centralism, which is a form of democracy were political decisions are reached by the voting process of a political organization.

Secularism

Socialist Third Way favors Secularism, is against any religious organization playing a role in government, or the government subsidizing religious organizations through a tax exempt status. Which is why he seeks the complete separation of church and state, and supports the taxation of religios institutions. He believes in the freedom of individuals to practice their chosen File:Religion.png faith. In public schools, the education system would focuses on teaching the history of religions rather than promoting specific religious beliefs. Essentially, I love my religion as long as doesn't enter into politics.

Semi-Direct Democracy

Socialist Third Way wants to give the population more say in government, and thinks introducing policies that bring direct democracy into the government are a good idea. And, is supportive of a Semi-direct democracy. Seeing it as the ultimate compromise between either a representative democracy and a direct democracy. So, Representatives should be largely responsible for governance, while citizens can have more autonomy through popular initiatives and referendums, ect.

Diplomatic

Internationalism

Socialist Third Way promotes International cooperation, regional democratic alliances, foreign aid to Third world countries, and Alter-globalist" ideas. It opposes Imperialism and warmongering, so he supports the withdrawal of our troops from most conflicts we are involved in, along with dropping most of our sanctions on other countries aswell.

  • Alter-globalism

Left Side's preferred diplomatic policy is Alter-globalism, opposing to economic globalization. It's a neoliberal tool that kills the power of labor unions while concentrating the power of wealth into the hands of a few rich elites, and is a form of neo-imperialism that subjected smaller economies to bigger economies and exploited the environment, so Socialist Third Way wants to promote anti-imperialism, global solidarity and minorities rights, while preserving the wealth equality of developing countries and utilize the positive effects of globalization like environmental and technological co-operation.

  • Foreign Aid

Left Side supports foreign aid. Not just for humanitarian reasons, but for geopolitical reasons. Since foreign aid encourages trade and peaceful diplomacy between different countries, it's a good way to achieve world peace as well.

  • Diplomatic neutrality, Anti-Imperialism

Socialist Third Way is skeptical towards military alliances like NATO, and opposes non-ethical military interventions that USA and NATO waged in Cold War and today in the Middle East. It favors diplomatic neutrality and Anti-Imperialism. Left Side supports countries fighting for self-determination against colonialism with his anti-imperialist mindset, neo-imperialism is something that should be actively fought against, as global capitalism is a modern day evil that actively strips countries of their autonomies and cultures which enslaves developing countries to developed countries, and has created a neo-feudalist system that is controlled by multinational corporations. However, Left Side wouldn't obviously seek an alliance with the east, seeing it as conservative and Authoritarian. Socialist Third Way favors peace negotiations and foreign aids to resolve conflicts over military interventions. But, if the state or organization is hostile to and threatens the sovereignty of the nation and the freedom of a people, and refuses negotiations, then he would support a soft military operation, including financing a coup or a revolution, if isn't a form of Imperialism and doesn't hurt human rights, but aid and solidarity would always be put first.

  • Technological Globalization

Socialist Third Way supports working together with other countries for the development of new technologies, which coincides with his environmental globalization policies. He sees it as important to not only develop environmental technology here at home, but to develop it with other countries to combat climate change. Along with other technological advancements like vaccines and ect. However, he realizes the risk of creating a digital divide between the rich and the poor, so regulations will apply that prevent this from happening, which will follow his globalization model.

  • European Federalism

Left Side is Pro-European and thinks that the European Union has done good things, like ensuring peace between the member States, carbon emission reducing measures, and its role in the protection of consumer goods and standards. However, he strongly disagree with current EU leadership and their neoliberal policies including their competition laws, anti union policies and austerity monetary policies used by the organization, along with free-trade agreements. With this, he doesn't oppose EU membership itself, but opposes these specific policies of the organization, believing that the EU needs to be reformed. He wants to democratize the institutions and give the member states greater control over policies like trade and immigration and make the EU more left-wing. He supports the idea of a United Europe, believing that we need a democratic, federalist and File:Welf2.png welfarist State, making him an European Federalist. He also thinks that Poland and Hungary are destroying European unity and he would impose more sanctions against them.

  • Chinese Conflict

Socialist Third Way fully supports Taiwan over this dispute, and believes that the Chinese government has no legitimate authority in claiming the Taiwanese island or messing with the national sovereignty of another country. The CCP is a pseudo-fascist totalitarian dictatorship that doesn't respect human rights or civil liberties. And, is actively commiting the largest human rights abuse since the holocaust. He believes it's important that the CCP is called out on an international scale for their human rights abuses and unfair trade practices. There would be numerous protectionist policies in place to shield our jobs from cheap Chinese exporters which should push for greater dependence from Chinese markets, and possibly, the creation of a pan-asian alliance between countries that border the South China Sea to resist Chinese influence. Taiwan is the most based state in East Asia compared to its neighbors like Japan or South Korea, with it being the most progressive and an actual functioning democracy that respects human rights. Along with this, Left Side supports the recognition of Taiwan as an independent country and would remove diplomatic relations with the CCP.

  • Russia

Socialist Third Way believes that Russia is an irredentist kleptocratic State which threatens the sovereignty and freedom of the Eastern European people. It thinks that Russia's territorial expansions should, in absolutely zero way, be recognized. And, that all the lands stolen should be given back to their neighbors, as Russia is a failed oligarchical kleptocratic state that only represents what the government wants, and not what the people want, which is one of the reasons the Invasion happened in the first place. It condemns the invasion of Ukraine, believing that this war must be a devastating defeat for Putin, and all former territories prior to Ukrainian independence from the USSR must be given back, including File:Sball-Crimea.png Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk. He supports the Russian opposition party to that of United Russia, being Russia of the Future and the anti-war movement that undermines Putin's efforts. Along with this, Left Side strongly supports other opposition parties like the Russian United Democratic Party.

  • United States

Left Side thinks the USA is a decadent nation, which promotes anti-democratic military interventions and anti-democracy itself: the American electoral system, in which "getting to 270 votes" is more important than the popular vote, is an outrage against Democracy and to human dignity. And furthermore, the Trump Presidency and the attempted 2021 "Coup" by a group of racist idiots were strong signs of America's fake democracy. In the Cold War, the Americans claimed that they fought against the Communist Bloc for values ​​such as democracy, freedom, but then they were involved in actions that contradicted these values, such as the coup d'état in Chile and Argentina.

It is economically Third-wayer and Culturally left to center-left, even if It is less Neoconservative than the other Liberals. SocGreenLib is situated in the LibLeft Quadrant, it is influenced by Modern Liberalism and some Democratic Party's beliefs. It supports a strong Welfare State, Progress and soft Capitalism, but always puts environmentalism first, and may eventually support a transition to Market Socialism.
