  • World War 3: A conflict that lasted between the years 2035 and 2039 and resulted in an Eastern Continental Victory against the Western NATO alliance.
  • World War 4: A conflict that lasted between the years 2056 and 2068, resulting in the deaths of 3 billion people, and saw the victory of the Global Western-Southern Coalition against the 2nd Continental Coalition.
    • Second Continental Coalition: The commonly given name of the alliance between France, Union of Germany, the Eurasian Union, and the Chinese Federation during the 4th World War.
    • League of Free Nations
    • File:Nukeism.png Day of Nuclear Hail: A nuclear exchange between the superpowers of the United States and the Eurasian Union, as well as other powers such as France and the United Commonwealth. Sometimes known as “Nuclear Tennis”, as both sides had advanced nuclear defense systems that was able to shoot down over 99.5% of incoming missiles, at the cost of a few getting through. The day began with Eurasian tactical nukes being used against Western army positions in Europe, destroying almost the entirety of the American army, along with millions of young men.
  • Absurdist era: A period of time usually defined between 2068 and the 2080’s, punctuated by a breakdown in many old structures, and a rise in ideas considered strange, eccentric, or postmodern. The Absurdist era is responsible for many of the strange and interesting political systems of the 22nd century.
  • European Triple Crisis: A series of crises in the nations of Spain, Italy and Greece, all of which resulted in civil war.
  • FORTERESSE: The artificial intelligence built by the 2nd Continental Coalition in 2043, who became dedicated to the single minded defense of the French nation.
  • Fatalist Twilight Wars: A large scale war from 2102 to 2104 which resulted in the fall of FATES.
  • The Great Bleeding: Referring to the famines which occurred across the Global South following the collapse of global trade, and the subsequent refugee crisis which crippled Europe afterwards. Involved the famines of millions of people.
  • The Great Floods: Refers to the environmental catastrophes of 2061 and beyond, where runaway greenhouse effects, climate change and various other environmental catastrophes lead to worldwide flooding and displaced nearly a billion people during the 4th World War. Caused by the destruction of the Nevada Geoengineering plant, and the failure of many similar Geoengineering plants around the world. The exact end date is not agreed upon, but ended sometime before 2065.
  • The Great Unraveling: The period starting around 2022 and ending sometime afterwards, where the 21st century global order broke down, and the Euro-American world order began to unravel.
  • LGBTT+ (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Transhumanist): Acronym for “Lesbian”, “Gay”, “Bisexual”. Originally included transgender individuals before they became reincorporated under the transhumanist movement. Occasionally, the two communities will show solidarity under the LGBTT+ acronym.
  • Islamic Culture War : A period of modernization and cultural strife in Islam, to modernize and adopt Islam to modernity or extremize. Finally ended with the modernization of Islam, and many speculate will lead to a 2nd Islamic Golden Age. (As of the year 2115, the Islamic Renaissance seems to finally be ending, it is too early to tell what will happen in the future.)
  • League of Free Nations: A formal military alliance of Western nations which fought in the 4th World Wars, de-facto led by the United States. Was formed as a successor alliance to NATO, which was defunct by the Interwar Period.
  • Post-Capitalism: A group of right-wing ideologies centered around the idea that modern free market capitalism doesn’t go far enough, and advocates for certain changes such as decentralization, extreme libertarianism, destruction of corporate monopolies, and support for cryptocurrency to create an ideal egalitarian, fair and free society. Sometimes known as “hypercapitalism”.
  • Post-Socialism (not to be confused with post-left): A group of left-wing ideologies defined by its critique and opposition of capitalism, and advocating for collective control over the means of production. Created in the aftermath of the 4th World War, due to a growing consensus of the need of an update to the aging socialist ideology.
  • Transhumanism: People who augment their bodies for recreational or aesthetic purposes. Includes several submovements such as Transbio (For biological transhumanism) and Transmech (For mechanical transhumanist). After the rise of widespread transhumanism, has since incorporated the older transgender movement, which split away from the larger LGB community.
  • File:Galactic Imperialism (Real).png Satellite Wars: The often given name to the space theatre of the 3rd World War, which lead to American victory and paving the way for American dominance in space throughout the Interwar period and beyond.
  • Socapitalism: A synthesis of Anarcho-Communist and Anarcho-Capitalist ideologies. Best described as “communism through capitalism”. It basically wishes to accelerate capitalism into hypercapitalism, and accelerate the essential free market forces pushing more competition until corporations are no longer competitive against millions of independent individual business owners. Leading to a less hierarchal, hypercompetitive, atomized society which both resembles anarcho-communism, libertarianism, and anarcho-capitalism.
  • Utilitarianism: A political principle essentially stating, “the ends justify the means”. Values and ethics are mostly discarded in favor of concrete results and ends. Largely associated with France and the FORTERESSE regime.

Technological

  • Imaginarium: A region of the Noosphere connected to one's personal individual inner realm of thought, or imagination.
  • Lifeseed: A new method of Terraforming currently being developed by the United States. Often accused of being a thinly veiled attempt to develop SRWs, the United States insists its official purpose is to use SRW technology to terraform terrestrial planets. Ongoing research is ongoing to create a stable organism to terraform Mars and make it suitable for human habitation.
  • Metaverse: The simulated virtual world that first began in 2040. After the discovery of the Noosphere, the Metaverse was fully transported there, and became free from all digital and storage restrictions, instead existing as a parallel virtual world.
  • Soulink: A new procedure that allows a soul/consciousness to experience two simultaneous streams of consciousness, usually from another individual. Popular in transhumanist marriages, where two transhumanist individuals will willingly bond their souls to create this shared conscious experience. Highly experimental, can go horribly wrong, leading to an identity of self.
  • Psychics: Individuals able to harness so called “psychic powers”, which includes being able to read past knowledge from things. Modern research has found that they do this via a connection to the Noosphere, where they can retrieve memories associated with written text, or much more rarely an inanimate object. Research is ongoing on the exact mechanism and origins of these powers.
  • Psychonet: A psychic improvement on top of the existing internet, now allowing for people to speak directly from the mind. Has recently been merged with the old Internet, as well as the Metaverse for a single psychic environment. Accessable through normal computers, mindlinks, and VR headsets.
  • T.H.E.O.N: Stands for Thermal Heat Ejection Orbital Nexus. An American laser superweapon located in low Earth orbit used similarly to nuclear weapons. THEON was created by the American company of Raytheon, which is also where the name THEON comes from.
  • Trinity Defense Network: An American anti-nuke shield which primarily works via laser satellites located throughout low-earth orbit. Is currently being shared with the Global Defense Coalition for purpose of nuclear deterrence. Reminiscent of the proposed Star Wars program of the 1980’s.
  • Self-Replicating Weapons: Weapons which use a self-replicating organism or machine to quickly infect and destroy a region, most infamously the Pyongstrocity weapon and its derivatives. Universally banned by nearly every nation, as Pyongstrocity cleanup still remains ongoing as of 2115.
  • Uploads: Humans who have uploaded their brain into a digital space. An increasingly common method to simulate the afterlife and escape death. Commonly condemned by religions as unnatural.
