BosWash Megalopolis Nationalism

Wiki is in the process of importing stuff

Please be patient. Additionally to upload stuff, please use main wiki temporally.

File:BosWashNat.png BosWash Megalopolis Nationalism (alternatively Northeastern Megalopolis Nationalism, Boston-Washington Nationalism, or BosWashNat) is a theoretical ideology which takes a notable change in the fact that it is not anarchist being one of the only Non-Anarchist ideologies made by Avata. BosWashNat believes that the Boston-Washington Corridor, or the Northeastern Megalopolis should secede from the United States and form a Democratic People's Republic. It is a Socialist, File:PCB-Civnat.png Civically Nationalist, Ultra-Progressive ideology.

Overview of Beliefs

[edit]

This is not the entire page. I will be working on this from time to time, and I will not finish this all in one go. This section is a TL;DR.

File:BosWashNat.png BosWash Nationalism believes in a peaceful separation from the United States (or violent if a civil war is to happen), stating that the BosWash Culture and Identity must be protected in a socialist people's republic. It believes that all minorities (especially the Native Americans) should be given equal rights as given by the state. A new BosWash culture will form from the ashes of an old American culture, and it will be a united culture from all individual civilian cultures. It proposes that an File:AuthDirectdem.png authoritarian form of direct democracy must be used to ensure that the people are free from external imperialism. It also proposes that a mix of parliamentary and presidential democracy should be used to keep a balancing force in government. The duty of the parliament and president will pass legislation that the people are in favor of. To do this, every vote will be counted to see who should be voted in as president from a party, and the parliament will be composed of a direct seating of party members who are also voted into their respective party, and the parliament thereof.

Establishment

[edit]

The establishment of the BosWash state can come about in two ways. Either peaceful, or violent. It claims that in a peaceful route, the BosWash separatist movement will gain traction, similar to New England separatism, and via that a democratic vote shall be held where the areas thereby claimed by the Socialist Party of the BosWash Megalopolis will choose as to whether or not they shall join the proposed state. However, due to the lands they claim being rather gorey to the United States (most of Maine becoming a panhandle for instance), and they claim Washington DC, they recognize that if the Central Intelligence Agency doesn't shut them down, the government will reject any sort of vote set up. They propose a fix to this by armed war with the US government, however, they recognize that one state will collapse in the face of the American army, so they combat this with a combined idea of socialism in other areas. They propose the creation of socialist ally states in the rest of New England and New York who will also help them fight, as well as the hope that with the US army distracted by three combined socialist uprisings, other areas will rebel as well due to instability, causing the Union to tear itself apart.

Actual Beliefs

[edit]

Civic Nationalism

[edit]

The Federal Socialist Republic of BosWash will promote the idea of the BosWash nation, claiming that all people under the state are a member of a new BosWash national identity. It believes that the current US melting pot is more of a low broil, barely melting the differing cultures inside, and proposes in a national proposition of many cultures into one united culture. All people of the state must and will forever be members of the BosWash national identity, even if they should leave.

Indigenous Liberation

[edit]

The FSR BosWash will also promote indigenous liberation, believing that the native was uprooted from their land, treated as a pest rather than a person, and mass slaughtered like cattle. It promotes the destruction of the American system of "Indian Reservations" and instead promote the using of built in systemic uplifting of disadvantaged groups (specifically for the natives, although this is also present for Black people, Queer people, and Women) so that way there is equal representation of all groups in the FSR.

Feminism and Men's Issues

[edit]

The FSR believes that all people should have equal, equitable rights to every other person. It proposes the achievement of this goal via the adoption of feminist policies. For example, there is in no way any ability for women and men to be payed differently. All work payment is subsidized by the state instead of a corporation that could pay them less. Men also benefit from this too, as men now have the ability to be stay at home husbands to stay with the kids while his wife can go work. To finish, it also has easily accessible abortions, totally free of charge, as well as contraceptives up unto birth.

Queer People

[edit]

The FSR is very progressive when it comes to queer people as well. It has full equal rights to all queer individuals, including marriage, healthcare access, etc. It further includes extreme rights to transgender people, providing easily accessible hormones, surgeries and other related transgender care, including easily changeable governmental records (like name and gender changes). In reguards to this it further outlaws any hate speech and hate campaigns against queer people (and other related groups).

Religious Influences

[edit]

The FSR believes in a strict laicist style of government, however in spite of this, it does not discourage or outlaw public practices or displays of religion (i.e wearing hijab, or praying). All laws suspected of holding religious influence are scrutinized to the utmost possible to see if they are illegal under the constitution of the FSR. It also promotes secular education and a move-away from the need for religious authorities (like a priest), believing that in most cases religious based education as well as priest like figures simply are used to back a regressive mindset. The FSR is still extremely inclusive and tolerant of most religious groups (with exception to cults or cult-likes, like the JW's and LDS Church).

Industrialization

[edit]

The FSR in terms of industrial is a very anti-industrial country, getting more from tourism and its fishing sectors than industry. However this does not stop the FSR from having notable areas of industry (mainly around the Philadelphia area). To combat the harm caused by industrialization the FSR promotes a heavy rebuilding of plants, most notably the American Chestnut, of which 3.5 billion died due to Chestnut Blight in between 1904 and 1940. Outside of the industrial sector, most wealth of the state is gotten from the luxurious fishing sector and other nature based sectors.

The State

[edit]

Territory

[edit]
File:BosWashState.png
The Territory of the FSR BosWash

The Federal Socialist Republic of BosWash will hold the entirety of the modern US states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey, and the District of Colombia, as well a sizable portions of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Subdivisions

[edit]

The state shall be organised in a new way as compared to the United States, creating entirely new provinces, including 5 new autonomous cities and 2 "Subsidized State Experimental Areas" (SSEA). These new states are (from north to south, east to west);

  • Maine (not renamed)
  • Wampanoag
  • Quinatucquet
  • Rockall
  • Long Island
  • Hudson
  • Susquehanna
  • Delaware (not renamed)
  • Potomac
  • Rappahannock
  • Virginia (not renamed)
  • Carolina (not renamed)

Along with the autonomous cities of;

  • Boston
  • New York'
  • Philadelphia
  • Baltimore
  • Columbia

Provincial Matters

[edit]

Provinces

[edit]

The provincial would be autonomous of the federal government on most issues, aside from federally important matters (like voting age, drinking age, education, etc). The individual states outside of federally important matters are able to create their own laws to govern themselves, however the federal government can and will overturn laws in breach of the constitution and federal governments previous guidelines.

Autonomous Cities

[edit]

The Autonomous cities of the FSR will act as their own separate provinces outside of the governance of the respective state they belong to (I.E Boston being the capital of Quinatucquet, but still being its own province). Provinces with autonomous cities as their capital will also have secondary capitals where their own laws will be made. The autonomous cities in some cases are capital of numerous states by technicality, for instance Columbia is capital of both Potomac and Rappahannock, or New York being the capital of all three states Long Island, Rockall, and Hudson. A special notice is given for Philadelphia which is the capital of both Susquehanna and the entire FSR itself.

Subsidized State Experimental Areas

[edit]

There are two SSEA's currently in action by the FSR, those being the Nauset SSEA (NSSEA) and Coastal Maine SSEA (CMSSEA). These two SSEA's have their own purposes. The NSSEA is to see if technological primitivism is really sustainable, often called the Post-Civilization Experiment by those who work within the SSEA and those who live in it. The CMSSEA is to see if Libertarianism (more specifically Socialist Libertarianism) can work as well, often called the Libertarian Experiment. Both SSEA's have their own laws (or lack there of), and any government formed inside does not need to conform to the greater laws of the province it resides in or the laws of the FSR. To prevent nefarious individuals from abusing this fact, the FSR only allows in scientists and government members in the FSR (upon the permission of those who live in the SSEA's).
